The STEAM Maker’s Lab is a hands-on workshop made just for curious elementary school kids in grades K-5.
Brainstorms is located in Olathe, Colorado, just 15 minutes from both Montrose and Delta. Welcome to the creative lab, where fun activities combine with skills your child can use in the future.

What is the STEAM Maker’s Lab?

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. In the Maker’s Lab, we won’t just talk about these subjects from a textbook. We will build things together! Your child will get to be a young inventor, try out weekly design challenges, build interactive prototypes, and do fun science experiments.
Here, we focus on creative problem-solving and building resilience. Making mistakes is simply part of learning how to invent.

What Your Child Will Experience

Each week, your child will work on a new hands-on project using quality materials and real tools, all with expert and safe guidance.
  • Science: Kids will dive into messy, exciting earth science, learn about seeds, and build an experiment they will observe throughout the class series.
  • Technology: They’ll explore basic circuits and learn fundamental electrical concepts.
  • Engineering and Robotics: Kids will build simple machines and test out their own blueprints.
  • The Art in STEAM: They’ll design 3D creations, use geometry in crafts, and turn everyday materials into creative projects.
  • Mathematics: Using fun crafts, we will reinforce mathematical concepts.
  • Parents’ Day: On the last day of the series, parents are welcome to stay and see what we have learned over the past five Fridays!
